Putting Your Heart into Your Work

A gymnastics teacher was taking his students through a rigorous training process and it was time for the big and final session. All the students passed with flying colors — except for one individual.

At the horizontal bar, the student literally froze. When approached by the teacher, he said…

I just can’t do it, I’m afraid.

In which the teacher said, “sure you can do it.” And the boy responded, “but no, I can’t.” This dialogue went back and forth for a few minutes.

The teacher finally said to the boy, “put your heart into the bar and the results will follow.”

After taking a deep breath, the boy gripped the bar and performed the routine with great precision and a near-perfect dismount. His scores, rewarded by the officials, were outstanding!
